The Fan Descender gives you a unique opportunity to free-fall from the top of a 20 metre high tower at Ackers Adventure, Golden Hillock Road, Sparkbrook. You can also try snowboarding, bellboating and abseiling, learn bushcraft and even try a jungle challenge. www.ackers-adventure.co.uk

Home to 23,000sqft of newly refitted ramps, suitable for BMX, scooter, inline and skateboarding, Creation is said to be the Midland’s biggest extreme sports venue. Whether you’re just starting out or an experienced climber, Redpoint Climbing Centre, Cecil Street provides a spectacular 3D climbing experience featuring lots of different shapes, angles and even stalactites! You can also try out a mountain skills course, where you will learn navigation and expedition skills. Said to be the best go kart race track in the Midlands, Birmingham Wheels Park, Saltley boasts state of the art race karts manufactured by world championship winning race constructor BIZ. It also features fully floodlit outdoor circuits with free parking just one mile from the city centre. Suitable for groups, individuals and juniors. If you’re feeling even more adventurous, this challenge takes karting to a whole new level. Walker-Adams at Birmingham Wheels Park, Adderley Road South is the only track in the country where you can race multiple 931cc WA Rebel buggies on a purpose built gravel rally stage, enabling you to experience the thrills of off road racing. Bouldering is stripped-down rock climbing, leaving behind ropes and harnesses and just using climbing shoes, balance and technique. Creation, one of the biggest climbing centres in the UK, is based in Moseley and has a massive choice of vertical, slabby, or overhanging walls on which to climb. A four hour introduction to climbing course starts at around £49. www.creationwall.co.uk

Unit3sixty Indoor Skatepark, Stourbridge boasts the biggest indoor bowl in the UK featuring the Death Star capsule which allows you to perform a full loop da loop. Birmingham BMX Club, Perry Barr has become one of the best BMX venues in Europe, thanks to funding from Sport England and Birmingham City Council.
