The Community of Madrid has renewed the fleet of its own terrestrial mobile resources that Summa 112 (Out-of-Hospital Medical Emergency Service) has to deal with emergencies on the spot, on public roads or at home, with an investment of 17 million euros that has enabled the gradual renewal of 132 vehicles "more visible, less polluting and with better technological equipment".The Minister of Health, Enrique Ruiz Escudero, presented this Friday the news of the 43 new Advanced Life Support (AVS) ambulances for situations in which there is a vital risk, also known as mobile ICUs;the 25 new Rapid Intervention Vehicles (VIR), which are also SVA, and the 64 new Home Care Units, designed to attend to emergencies directly in patients' homes.During the act, he has witnessed the weekly training maneuvers of the professionals of one of the two medical helicopters that the region has and that complete the Summa 112 fleet.A total of 132 vehicles that incorporate improvements and innovations designed and proposed by the emergency and health emergency professionals themselves and that make it "safer, less polluting and more cutting-edge in health and driving technology", highlighted the Regional government. The new units are connected to the Summa 112 Coordination Center through a computer system that allows two-way communication. These send their geographical position, temperatures and vehicle status at all times and, in turn, all the data referring to the emergency intervention can be transferred, including coordinates of the place of intervention. Thanks to this, and to the incorporation of an integrated GPS navigator with a system of periodic updates, response times are considerably reduced. All this communication is done through the 4G system. In addition, all units have Tetra onboard communication equipment and a Tablet PC to perform clinical reports and consult the patient's history.According to the Ministry, they are mobile health devices with the same guarantees as if they were physical health centers. The 43 new Advanced Life Support (AVS) ambulances are safer and more visible, and have technological innovations for assistance and humanization measures. The Community of Madrid has 29 of these operational ambulances and increases to 43 in case of catastrophes or special situations. Each of them is equipped with technology and electromedical equipment equivalent to that of a hospital ICU station. As a novelty, they have electric stretchers, which facilitate the work of the toilets in the management of patients in critical condition, and with double-channel perfusion pumps.Within the renovation, several novelties aimed at improving humanization also stand out.On the one hand, the vehicles are musicalized, in order to offer the patient a musical support that relaxes him. Thus, health professionals from Summa 112 worked with the Madrid Community Orchestra and Choir to identify musical pieces that meet these goals. On the other hand, and in collaboration with the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University, the new mobile ICUs also incorporate a roll-up pediatric panel with a painted mural to be able to unfold it in the case of caring for minors or patients with disabilities. in order to be able to distract them and alleviate the impact of the emergency situation. In addition, they also carry a care kit for out-of-hospital deliveries. As for the 25 Rapid Intervention Vehicles, of which 16 are operational every day, they have a two-line, removable and lighter perfusion pump, which is a significant improvement for transfers in which it is necessary to handle two medications that require simultaneous fluid infusion control. In addition, these new resources have a defibrillator monitor on board that allows continuous monitoring of the patient's constants, apply electrical therapies such as defibrillation, electrical cardioversion or the application of an external pacemaker, and also have a high-performance portable ventilator. The new fleet of Home Care Units (UAD) also includes advances in driving safety systems. As a novelty, they incorporate the same defibrillator monitor model that is used by the Advanced Life Support units, which represents an advance in the standardization of the equipment. In addition, these new monitors add new features such as the transfer of the patient's constants to the patient's Digital Medical Record, thanks to their synchronization with the unit's Tablet PC.The UADs have the equipment that allows both home emergency care, medical-health equipment, as well as a backpack with the pharmacological arsenal to deal with the treatment of the patient in situ.Likewise, they provide material and instruments for emergency care until the arrival of one of the Advanced Life Support units.DO YOU WANT... ... to send a whatsapp to our newsroom?... subscribe to our newsletter?... write a letter to the Director?... answer a quick survey about Madrid
